THE MOTIYA RITUAL
10 minutes. Twice a week.
Stronger hair in 8 weeks.
Three simple steps designed by a hairstylist — not a marketing team.
No complicated routine. No ten products.
⏱ 10 min per session 📅 2x per week 🌿 13 herbs
Hair oiling isn't complicated. But most people either overthink it or skip it entirely. The Motiya Ritual is a simple three-step routine designed by a hairstylist — not a marketing team. It works because the ingredients work, and because consistency beats intensity every time. Give it 8 weeks. That's all we ask.
Hair Repair Oil — $28 / Soothing Oil — $28
- Pour 5–7 drops into your palms. Rub together for 10 seconds to warm the oil.
- Part your hair into 4 sections — down the middle, then ear to ear.
- Apply oil directly to your scalp along each part line using the dropper or your fingertips.
- Massage in circular motions for 2 minutes. Focus on thinning areas, your part line, and your temples.
- Once your scalp is covered, run any remaining oil through your lengths and ends.
- Leave it in. Overnight is best. Minimum 30 minutes if you're short on time. Wrap in a silk scarf or towel if sleeping with it.
💡 Hairstylist tip
You don't need to drench your hair. A little goes a long way — 5–7 drops is enough. If your hair feels heavy or greasy, you're using too much.
Which oil should I use?
Hair Repair Oil → Your main concern is hair fall, thinning, shedding, or damage
Soothing Hair Oil → You have hair fall AND dandruff, itching, or dry scalp (has everything the Repair Oil has, plus tea tree, peppermint, and neem)
Not sure? → Start with the Soothing Hair Oil. It covers all bases.
Fortifying Shampoo Bar — $15
- Thoroughly wet your hair and scalp with warm water.
- Rub the Shampoo Bar between your palms to build lather — or rub it directly on your scalp.
- Massage the lather into your scalp and through your hair. Let it sit for 30–60 seconds.
- Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
- If you had oil in overnight, you may want to lather twice for a complete cleanse.
💡 Hairstylist tip
If you're switching from a liquid sulfate shampoo, your hair might feel different for the first 1–2 weeks. That's normal — your scalp is adjusting to a gentler formula. The transition is worth it. Keep the bar dry between uses — store it on a soap dish with drainage holes. It'll last 2–3 months.
Fortifying Conditioner Bar — $15
- Squeeze excess water from your hair after rinsing out the shampoo.
- Glide the Conditioner Bar directly on your hair from mid-lengths to ends. Don't apply to roots — it can weigh hair down.
- Use a wide-tooth comb to detangle gently while the conditioner is in.
- Leave for 1–2 minutes. For extra hydration, leave for 5 minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly. Enjoy the jasmine scent that lingers.
💡 Hairstylist tip
If your hair is very dry or thick, focus extra conditioner on your ends — that's where hair is oldest and driest. For fine hair, a quick 30-second glide is enough.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Your 8-week timeline
Week 1–2
Your hair smells incredible. You start to enjoy the ritual. No visible changes yet — and that's normal.
Week 3–4
Less hair in the shower drain. Scalp feels calmer. If you had dandruff, the Soothing Oil should be making a noticeable difference by now.
Week 5–6
Texture starts to improve. Softer, smoother, more shine. You might see baby hairs at your part line and temples.
Week 7–8
This is when it clicks. Reduced hair fall, visible regrowth, stronger strands. Your hair feels noticeably different than it did 8 weeks ago.
After 8 weeks
Maintain with once or twice weekly oiling. The herbs build up in your scalp over time — consistency is what delivers lasting results.

FAQS
Common questions about the ritual
Q. Can I oil my hair every day?
Ans. Oiling everyday could be harmful as your scalp needs to breath. 2-3 times a week is sufficient.
You can, but twice a week is enough for most people. Over-oiling can make hair heavy and harder to wash out. Stick to the ritual — it's designed for consistency, not intensity.
Q. Do I have to leave the oil overnight?
Ans. According to our data, 2 times a week overnight gave customers the best results. We do suggest atleast 30 mins if you can't do overnight.
No. Overnight gives the best results, but 30 minutes works too. Even a quick 10-minute scalp massage before showering is better than skipping it entirely.
Q. Can I use the shampoo and conditioner bars without the oil?
Ans. Yes you can use our shampoo and conditioner bars on their own, as a replacement for your regular shampoo and conditioner.
Absolutely. The bars work beautifully on their own. But the oil is where the real scalp treatment happens — the bars are for cleansing and conditioning.
Q. Is this safe for color-treated hair?
Ans. As a hairstylist, My goal was to create everything professional grade and color-safe. Yes they are color-safe
Yes. Everything is sulfate-free and color-safe.
Q. My hair feels different after switching to the shampoo bar. Is that normal?
Ans. Your hair is probably getting used to the 'good stuff'. It should start to feel better than normal within the first 2 weeks.
Yes. If you were using a sulfate shampoo before, your hair needs 1–2 weeks to adjust. Sulfates strip your natural oils, so your scalp has been overproducing oil to compensate. Once it recalibrates, your hair will feel cleaner and healthier than it did with the liquid shampoo.
Q. Can men use Motiya?
Ans. Yes, haircare has no gender. Motiya is loved by our men as well as women.
Yes. Hair fall and DHT affect everyone. Several of our five-star reviews are from men.
Q. Which oil should I start with if I'm not sure?
Ans. Always start with the 'hair repair oil' if you are not sure.
Start with the Soothing Hair Oil. It has everything in the Hair Repair Oil plus tea tree, peppermint, and neem — so it covers hair fall, thinning, AND dandruff/scalp issues. It's the all-in-one option.
